I should be writing this in Spanish, because I seem only to use the present tense in that language. I am understood, so what is the trouble with that?
Even in French I keep away from the f—-e tense and I use ‘aller’ before the verb. Is ‘going to’ still present tense?
But today I am writing, and that is my present occupation. And presently I may be writing in another tense, or person, but for now, to paraphrase The Warning – the red hat lady’s poem – I will write what I please when I please.
